| The Asian Collection is an expanding group of artworks and designs by Ali White that unite contemporary and traditional, ‘east’ and ‘west’, in uniquely original ways. Lychee & Pineapple Skins II, for example, is one of a series of images adapted from 13th century designs from Southwest Asia, ‘recreated’ using fragments of photographic images of fruit.
‘Star Anis’ is one of a series of Asian spice-based images that form patterns inspired by these kinds of traditions (more south asian than arabic in this instance).
Items from the Asian Collection are available as giclée prints on stretched artist canvas at any size. They can also be produced as wallpaper or blinds.
Variations can be created to order at little extra cost (using different coloured fruit, spices, flowers etc to create alternative colourways for example).
