About the Artist

Helena Spartakovna was born in Russia but moved to the UK in her twenties. Her astonishing artwork actually began as greetings cards, consisting of landscapes made from leaves and petals. They were only around 10 cms high. The breakthrough came when she started wondering what they would look like on a much larger scale.
“I thought it wouldn’t work, but when I had one blown up I was amazed at what you see – every hint of colour and vein. Everyone I showed them to said they had never seen anything like it. You get to see nature in a completely new way. I love it, because even as I am making them I have no idea of what the end result will be.”
The original artworks are photographed or scanned at an extremely high resolution and then printed on archival grade canvas, fine art or photo paper. They are available as giclée prints on any of these materials to any size you wish. The bigger they get, the more incredible the detail, and the impact is absolutely stunning.
More recently she has been experimenting with printing her work on other materials – to make blinds or ‘window art’, for example.
