This is the only retail outlet we have provided artwork for to date, but the principle evidently applies in any retail context – to create semi-abstract artworks based on photographs of the product.
This piece incorporated hundreds of layers of elements taken from a set of original photographs of purple gladioli, stitched together to resemble the spreaded wings of a giant bird, as well as the kind of spectacular arrays of gladioli normally only seen at flower shows.
Printed on premium quality artist canvas, with the rich colours and high definition you can only really achieve with giclée printing, it provided the perfect complement to the lavish floral displays that Carl Wilde is rightly renowned for. |
